Forty four years is enough! I want to stay home and fish. This past year, the grand opening of my new and larger store, along with the addition of our new and hugely successful restaurant, The Evening Hatch, our wholesale and retail bakery, our six unit motel and a gift shop made it our best year ever. It is definitely now the time to step back and write more books. Let's face it, I'm not getting any younger. I am diligently looking for the right person to follow me and be the new owner of the legendary 'Adirondack Sport Shop'. This is where I developed the Ausable Wulff, the Haystack patterns, the Usual and the Ausable Bomber patterns all of which I now ship all over the world. The business consists of five acres located one mile from the Whiteface Mt Ski Center and one mile from the Whiteface Memorial highway. The five acres has 500 feet along Rt 86 and consists of the Adirondack Sport Shop, the Evening Hatch Restaurant, a six unit motel, a two apartment house, a large outdoor dining area and a gift shop. It is without a doubt the best business property in the region and at a great price. I am even willing to continue to supply my custom flies and rods and work some hours to insure a good transition.
